All information for an index prior to its launch date is back-tested, based on the methodology that was in effect on the Trendz Index launch date in late 2009. Trendz uses 10 nationally published indices as component parts of the Trendz Index, which may be reconstituted every six weeks.  Performance data prior to late 2009 is back-tested, but all performance data since then is actual based on the performance of each component part of the Trendz Index.

Back-tested performance, which is hypothetical and not actual performance, is subject to inherent limitations because it reflects application of an Index methodology and selection of index constituents in hindsight. It does not represent the actual investment of client assets.  Back-tested results do not represent the impact that material economic and market factors might have on an investment adviser's decision-making process if the adviser were actually managing client money. Back-tested performance also differs from actual performance because it is achieved through the retroactive application of model designed with the benefit of hindsight. As a result, the models theoretically may be changed from time to time and the effect on performance results could be either favorable or unfavorable.  No theoretical approach can take into account all of the factors in the markets in general and the impact of decisions that might have been made during the actual operation of an index.  Actual returns may differ from, and be lower than, back-tested returns.

Actual performance for participant accounts may be materially lower than that of the various Trendz Index Risk Profiles. The correlation of mutual fund or exchange traded funds to the asset classes the Trendz Index uses can have an effect on actual performance.   Back-tested results are adjusted to reflect the reinvestment of dividends and other income and, except where otherwise indicated, are presented gross-of fees (not net) and do not include the effect of back tested transaction costs, management fees, performance fees or expenses, if applicable. Timing of implementation of recommendations will also have an effect on actual performance.   As with any investment strategy, there is potential for profit as well as the possibility of loss. All investments involve risk and investment recommendations will not always be profitable.  Past performance does not guarantee future results and in any case back-tested performance is not an indicator of future actual results
